EMF Forms and EMF Client Platform 1.21.0 released!

We are happy to announce that with the Eclipse Release 2019-06, we have also shipped  EMF Forms and EMF Client Platform 1.21.0!

EMF Forms continues to be one of the most active projects at Eclipse with a very stable development activity. Again, we want to thank our continuously active team of 11 contributors (41 contributors overall) for completing 50 bug fixes and features!”

We are also happy to announce that the team has elected our long-term committer Johannes Faltermeier to be a new project lead, congratulations!

In case you want to meet the EMF Forms committer and project leads, you should have EclipseCon 2019 on your radar, the call for paper is open until July 15th:

All relevant “noteworthy” tickets in 1.21.0 can be found here and all “test” bug reports can be found here. Please see here for a more detailed description of those tags.

As you can see in the list of completed tickets, a lot of them are related to the new “segments”. As announced with the 1.19.0 release, we are introducing a new format to describe domain model references. In case you skipped the update to the 1.19.0 release, please have a look at this announcement. Please see details about the change and how to evaluate the new mode here.

Further, kindly continue to ask questions in the newsgroup and file Bug Reports.

In case you don’t know EMF Forms: It is a framework focused on the creation of form-based UIs. EMF Client Platform is designed to support the development of applications based on an EMF data model. If you are not yet familiar with EMF Forms, please refer to this tutorial for an introduction.

Both of these frameworks are part of the Eclipse Modeling Tools package, but you can also find the new release on our download pages:

As always, we will also blog about new features of the EMF Forms / ECP 1.21.0 release in the upcoming weeks! Please follow this blog or follow us on twitter for notifications about new posts.
