EMF Client Platform 1.0.0 released

June 12, 2013 | 2 min Read

We are very happy to announce release 1.0.0 of the EMF Client Platform (ECP)! We have finally come to release 1.0.0 and have graduated, although ECP is already deployed in several productive applications.

Technically, we just released ECP at the democamp in Munich. As nobody was in office to do the release, we had a very sophisticated and fully automated build script (see video below). To make it a little more fun, we triggered the release with this device:

For those of you who still don’t use it ;), ECP is a framework that allows you to develop applications very efficiently based just on a data model. In fact, as a first step, you only need to define the entities of an application and you immediately get something like this without any additional coding or code generation:

Additionally, the EMF Client Platform is very adaptable. This means you can customize the UI by selectively replacing parts of it. I would like to thank all of the committers for their great work, and I hope you enjoy using the technology!

I will start a blog series tomorrow introducing the features of the new release based on an example application. Stay tuned!
