I use separate workspaces for every project and each project I have to set all my preferences again, and again, and again, and again.... This is annoying to say the least. It does not make much sense to me! It seems that the whole Eclipse preferences system is backwards. The preferences should be global except if specified otherwise (e.g. project specific). It does not seem to space conscious either to have the preferences stored in each workspace. Why should I have to set my highlighting preferences, or set where my python executable is, or where my android sdk is each time I start a new project? Now before the flame war starts I would like everyone to know I own an asbestos suit and know that I can export most of these settings, but not all. The question is why should I have to export them and then import them once they are set? When is Eclipse going to make preferences global and not tied to the workspace?
