I believe items without a category should be displayed even if the checkbox “”Group
items by category” is set in the p2 update manager. See https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=281764

I like the new UI, but I still failed to use existing installations as source, though I understood on JAX09 that this was possible.
Maybe there can be a “Search Local Drive” button to look for material that is already present on your local drive so that you don’t have to go online to add all those “essentials” again, such as FindBugs, CheckStyle and PMD.

As target management also involves p2 UI, I would like some sort of integration with build servers, so you can easily retrive and load the parallel streams of other components that you are working on.

Eugene, you should be able to install from multiple sites by selecting “–All Available Sites–” and searching.

The feature for searching features works really great. But there is one item I’m really missing – searching particular IUs. It’s pretty common that you want to install single plug-in into your Eclipse setup (especially while doing RCP developement). Search for IUs and ability to install single IU via user interface would be a great enhancement.

It doesn’t seem like the new UI allows to install artifacts from multiple update sites (or it isn’t exactly obvious from the current UI), e.g. Mylyn has 3 of them.

Another thing that annoys me is the use of the group widget around the text area, it is just ugly and I think the UI working group should list that as an antipattern.
